Our vision

The vision of the Watershed Biodiversity Initiative is the protection, restoration, and enhancement of natural biodiversity on a landscape scale to enrich the ecological vitality of the Roaring Fork Watershed.

Biodiversity as a whole forms a shield protecting each of the species that together compose it, ourselves included.
— E.O. Wilson

What We HOPE TO Achieve

  1. Develop for the million-acre Roaring Fork Watershed a science-based strategy for the protection and restoration of natural biodiversity and habitat connectivity on a landscape-scale.

  2. Conserve and enhance wildlife habitat and ecological processes in the Watershed.

  3. Catalyze informed stewardship that engages the entire watershed community.
